Sneak Pique of the Week: Green

It could have been the spinach in my omelette, or the lush landscaping in the neighborhoods on my run, whatever it is, my mind is set on GREEN.   And what better way to introduce my new series of my current inspirations, welcome to my weekly new post series, Sneak Pique of the week.  Here is what's on my mind...

Back to Reality

I am still trying to recover from the harsh sound of my alarm clock this morning.  Why does it take forever for a vacation to get here, but be over in a blink of an eye?
This past week off was completely amazing.  I spent every moment in full vacation mode, and had the best time with my family.  Since I will be busy for the next year planning the wedding, I was glad to have some time to relax.  Here is some of what I got to enjoy

Over-indulging in some of my favorite Beers

Hikes to some of the most gorgeous scenery

feeding ducks off the boat

The grand finale of my time off was spent at the local winery, the perfect ending to an amazing vacay

Til next time...

Shaken not Stirred

You know that saying "Stop and smell the roses"? Well, what if you are too busy trying to arrange them, that you completely overlook the smell?  It seems like we are always trying to make things better, while ignoring the fact that they may just be good the way they are...says the busy girl who has not stopped and smelled a rose in quite some time.
So I put together a little treat.  It may not be roses, but a Spicy hot fix will do ;)

I 've decided to put my feet up and enjoy a mid-weekend drinky.... I don't know who Mary is, but she must have had a rough week too!

Cheers!
Hope you take a minute this weekend to stop and enjoy something!

Yorkies and Oxfords

They just look like they belong together, don't they?

And they both happen to be 2 of my favorite things!

My fiance is no professional photographer, but he is happy to do the job! And I am a lucky girl.
Here is my ensemble today.  Looking at these makes me realize I need a good photo editing program, a better camera, and a couple applications of faux tanner!
                                                     Top and Skirt: Target
                                                     Belt: Maxx-i-nista'ed ;)
                                                    Oxfords: Steve Madden
We tried to get artsy and use different angles, but Shae took over at that point

and yes, I am still itchy! ;)

And just in case you didn't get a good glance, here is the real model of the day

                                                Happy Tuesday!

10 Reasons

Here are my reasons I started a Blog:
1. To put my thoughts into words and pictures
2. To connect with other bloggers that share the same interests
3. To give advice
4. To get advice
5. To have somewhere to showcase all the crafty ideas I think about all day (when my mind wonders out of the cubicle)
6. To tell Secrets
7. To make people laugh
8. To learn about myself by stepping out of my comfort zone
9. To better my lack of computer nerd skills
10. To share my love of (affordable) fashion and shoes

This is why I am here, and I am happy to share!

Soon to be Mrs.

I know it's a year away, but I do enjoy getting lost in Wedding inspiration.  My sweet friend Ellen sent me this, she has a good eye for what I like.
We have yet to set the date, but our destination has been chosen...

Secrets Out!

If you haven't guessed yet...
I love shoes!
These are Simply Vera by Vera Wang for Kohls

I spent most of the day in a cardigan, but braved a dress none the less ;)

I will be up bright and early tomorrow to lay out the goods for the garage sale.  The feeling of selling worn treasured items makes my stomach turn, why am I so attached to something that someone will try to offer me 50 cents for? If they only knew the story behind that tattered tee, will they get as much out of it as I did?

It's hard to let things go
The past is the past, and what we are left with is a memory.

Cheers to new beginnings, and life lessons....

And Chardonnay with Carrot cake cupcakes :)

Summer Blossom

5:30 this morning while I was getting ready for work, I looked outside to notice the marine layer was so thick, you could cut it with a knife.  I was going to need to trade my sandals in for something a little warmer.

Boots in the middle of July?! I couldn't believe it either.  Since I spend the majority of the daylight in an office (that they keep well below 70 degrees!!), between the excel spreadsheets, reports and meetings, I am daydreaming of being on the beach or a lake with the sun beaming down on me.  To be a kid enjoying summer break.
since I was a 90's kid, maybe you can guess who inspired my outfit today...

                                                               Blouse- Target
                                                         Tank and Leggings- Kohls
                                                           Boots- Steve Madden

I am even rocking the roots! Not for long!

Looking forward to the weekend, to soak up some sun, and a garage sale too!

oh, someone else wants to say hi...

My baby girl Shae will be 6 tomorrow!

I had to dust these off, they were hiding in the back of my closet for the last 3 weeks.

It's not that I haven't thought about them, I have been busy moving, unpacking, settling, and working my butt off...so to speak.  Enough with the excuses, I am back on the road, running that is.  With life geting back on track, I am starting something new.  Here's to my blog.
